About FreeJigsawOnline
FreeJigsawOnline is a free jigsaw puzzle site for adults, seniors and families. Every puzzle plays right in your browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download, and you don't need an account to play.
Playing a puzzle
Pick a picture, choose how many pieces you want (from 12 large pieces up to 294), and start. Drag pieces onto the board; they click into place when they fit, and lock once they are in the right spot. Your puzzle saves itself, so you can stop at any time and continue later.
On a phone, the pieces wait in a tray along the bottom of the screen. Drag a piece up to pick it, or tap it to place it just above the tray.
The buttons under the puzzle
- Edges: shows only the border pieces, so you can build the frame first. When the border is done, the other pieces come back by themselves.
- Ghost: shows a faint copy of the picture on the board, to help you see where pieces go.
- Picture: shows the finished picture in a small window while you play.
- Spread: lays the loose pieces out again so none are hidden under others. On a phone it shuffles the tray.
- Zoom out, Fit and Zoom in: make the pieces smaller or bigger on the screen. Fit shows the whole table again.
- Background: changes the table behind the puzzle: green felt, slate, walnut or linen.
- Sound: turns the soft click of fitting pieces on or off.
- Full screen: hides everything else so the puzzle fills your screen.
- Start over: mixes up all the pieces again (tap or click it twice to confirm).
Points and levels
Every finished puzzle earns points: one point per piece, with bonuses on top. Bigger puzzles are worth more (×1.25 for 54 or 96 pieces, ×1.75 for 150 or 216, and ×2 for 294). Finishing within the quick-finish time shown next to the timer doubles your points, and so does the puzzle of the day on its day. Together they multiply, so a quick 294-piece puzzle of the day earns eight times its pieces.
Points fill your level bar. Your level, streak, badges and finished puzzles are on the My progress page.
Streaks, albums and badges
Finish any puzzle on a day to keep your daily streak going. Everyone gets two rest days a week, so a missed day doesn't break it, and a broken streak can be won back by finishing two more puzzles by the next day.
Each category is an album. Finish every puzzle in an album to unlock its bonus picture. There are more than 40 badges to earn along the way, and every puzzle you finish hangs on your own puzzle wall.
Signing in
Playing never needs an account. If you sign in with Google, your progress is saved to your account, so it is safe even if your browser is cleared, and it is there on all your devices: your level, streak, badges, albums and puzzle wall. Other players only ever see your first name and the first letter of your last name.
